Solstice Gold Corp. (TSX-V:SGC) announced the appointment of Mark Laycock as chief financial officer, effective immediately.
Laycock brings over 15 years of accounting and finance experience to his new role, having worked with private and public companies listed on Canadian and US stock exchanges.
Laycock previously provided senior accounting and financial reporting services to companies including Great Bear Resources (TSX-V:GBR) Ltd., Northern Empire Resources, Kodiak Copper Corp. (TSX-V:KDK), and Solstice.
Pablo McDonald, Solstice’s CEO, told investors that Laycock’s “in-depth experience” will be a “great asset” to the company.
“Mark has provided senior accounting services to Solstice for several years and his outstanding work has made him an excellent choice to become Solstice’s CFO. I have no doubt Mark will excel in this role,” McDonald said.
As part of Laycock's appointment, Solstice issued 600,000 stock options to him under the company's stock option plan. These options, exercisable for common shares of Solstice at an exercise price of $0.05, have a term of five years. Vesting will occur in three equal tranches: immediately, after one year, and after two years, subject to the terms of the stock option plan.
Laycock replaces outgoing CFO David Fischer.
“David has been CFO for over five years and has been a steady hand during periods of growth and change at Solstice,” McDonald added. “It has been a pleasure working with David and I wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
