ATHA Energy secures Australian court approval for 92 Energy merger

ATHA Energy Corp (CSE:SASK, OTCQB:SASKF) has received approval from the Federal Court of Australia for its merger with 92 Energy Limited.

Troy Boisjoli, CEO of ATHA, told investors that the company was “thrilled” with the level of support from 92 Energy shareholders for the transaction.

“On behalf of ATHA’s board and management I would like to express the company’s appreciation for the confidence 92 Energy’s shareholders have shown for our vision of creating a company that is a global leader in uranium exploration and project development,” Boisjoli said in a statement.

ATHA Energy now has access to high-quality post-discovery projects and extensive land packages rich in uranium deposits, following its recent transactions involving Latitude Uranium and the acquisition of 92 Energy, the CEO noted, as well as a team that has had past success discovering and developing uranium assets.

“These technical attributes are backed by a highly experienced capital markets team, which has the company in a strong financial position where we can continue to execute our prime objective – discovering and developing the world’s next generation of uranium assets,” Boisjoli added.

The merger was also heralded as a new chapter of opportunity by Siobhan Lancaster, managing director of 92 Energy. “With significant funding, an exceptional team in place, the Gemini discovery, Angilak’s historical resource and the largest land package in the Athabasca and Thelon Basin, ATHA is set to accelerate exploration.”

Implementation of the scheme is anticipated to take place on April 11, 2024 (Australia Time).
