First Phosphate Corp. (CSE:PHOS) announced the publication of two peer-reviewed studies in scientific journals and one research report concerning its phosphate properties at Lac à l'Orignal, Mirepoix, and Bégin-Lamarche in the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region of Quebec.
The publications aim to provide the scientific and industrial community with insights into the geological characteristics of these phosphate deposits, particularly their potential for expansion to benefit the phosphate and lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery industry worldwide.
The studies encompass various aspects of the geological properties of First Phosphate Corp. (CSE:PHOS)'s phosphate deposits in Quebec. One study, titled "Petrogenesis of oxide-apatite mineralization associated with Proterozoic anorthosite massifs at Lac Mirepoix," has been published in Ore Geology Reviews.
Another study, "Petrogenesis of Fe-Ti-P mineral deposits associated with Proterozoic anorthosite massifs in the Grenville Province: insights from oxide and apatite trace-element geochemistry at Lac à l'Orignal," is featured in Mineralium Deposita.
Additionally, a research report authored by Dr Sandeep Banerjee from Queen's University, Ontario, Canada, investigates the chloride contents of phosphatic layers in First Phosphate's Bégin-Lamarche property. These publications contribute valuable insights into the geological characteristics and potential of First Phosphate's phosphate properties in Quebec.
"These publications are important because they serve to provide the scientific and industrial community with an understanding of the geological set up of these high-purity phosphate layers for the potential expansion of this resource to the benefit of the phosphate and lithium iron phosphate battery industry worldwide," CEO John Passalacqua said in a statement.
"High purity Quebec igneous phosphate rock as is found in the company's properties is believed to be able to produce a large quantity of purified phosphoric acid to serve North America's electrification requirements."
First Phosphate envisions Quebec igneous anorthosite phosphate rock as an untapped source of high-purity phosphate, capable of meeting North America's demand for PPA and contributing to the establishment of a fully integrated LFP battery supply chain in the region.
