Blackbird PLC (AIM:BIRD, OTC:BBRDF) announced the general release of its new software-as-a-service video content creation and editing platform, elevate.io.
“Our goal is that, over time, elevate.io will come to define how content is created and stories are told individually and through collaborating in teams,” chief executive Ian McDonough commented.
The platform has initially been released for free to gain traction, Blackbird said on Tuesday, and aims to address issues around complexity, collaboration and extensibility.
Blackbird added that there will be repeated evolution of elevate.io to add new features and already includes plug-in architecture to work with third-party capabilities, such as artificial intelligence.
“We now have the chassis of a disruptive product that can already be used to create high-quality content,” McDonough added.
“elevate.io will continue to evolve at pace and, being architected on the public cloud, has the ability to scale globally."
Blackbird has positioned the technology to address the wider $250 billion creator economy of YouTubers, Instagrammers and TikTokkers, which is anticipated to double in size by 2027.
“Easy to use and efficient editing is underpinned by the company's core technology allowing very smooth playback,” chief product officer Sumit Rai said.
“Feedback so far has been encouraging including on design and vision. I believe the elevate.io platform will be a game changer in simplifying and creating efficiencies in post-production workflows.”
