Pacific Empire Minerals Corporation (TSX-V:PEMC, OTCQB:PEMSF) announced its collaboration with Expert Geophysics Ltd to embark on an airborne MobileMT survey across the Trident and Pinnacle copper-gold projects.
The survey is slated to commence before the end of March, according to the Vancouver-based company.
The MagnetoTelluric (MT) survey employs a cutting-edge methodology capable of detecting basement electromagnetic (EM) conductors and anomalous resistivity zones, which are indicative of potential copper-gold porphyry systems.
Covering a substantial area of 164 line-kilometres, the survey along the South Hogem copper-gold belt properties aims to provide comprehensive coverage of primary target zones.
Trident boasts of past results such as 70.07 metres (m) at 0.69% copper (Cu) and 100.00m at 0.59% Cu and 0.18 g/t Au, further motivating the exploration efforts.
Additionally, the survey will extend its coverage to PEMC's Pinnacle property, adjacent to Trident, to optimize exploration strategies.
Both Trident and Pinnacle are west of Centerra Gold's operating Mount Milligan copper-gold mine.
PEMC’s primary goal is to identify significant "plumbing systems" necessary for large copper deposits, CEO Brad Peters told shareholders.
“Our goal is simple, discover the next gold-enriched copper porphyry deposit within this district,” Peters said in a statement.
“Once results are received and analyzed for this MT survey, we currently anticipate drilling these targets during the Summer/Fall 2024 field season. Trident for the very first time is 100% owned by a public company with an updated porphyry geological model established by our skilled technical team."
Expert Geophysics will orchestrate the survey using an Astar 350 B2 helicopter provided by Heli Source, PEMC said. Results are anticipated to be available within three weeks post-survey completion.
