Hillcrest Energy Technologies successfully demonstrates Zero Voltage Switching inverter in e-boat trial

Hillcrest Energy Technologies Ltd (CSE:HEAT, OTCQB:HLRTF) has reached an important achievement by successfully testing its Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) traction inverter in a vehicle.

The trial, done in partnership with Hercules Electric Mobility, specifically occurred on an e-boat located on Orchard Lake near Detroit, Michigan.

The ZVS traction inverter is expected to deliver improved performance in terms of system efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

The successful demonstration represents the first practical application of this technology outside of controlled laboratory environments, validating its potential benefits in real-world scenarios.

Ari Berger, Hillcrest's Chief Technology Officer, told investors that ZVS marks a “transformative leap” in power inverter capabilities.

James Breyer, CEO of Hercules Electric Mobility, expressed excitement about the collaboration, highlighting the potential for highly efficient power conversion technology in electric marine applications, adding the team was “very pleased by how quickly we were able to integrate Hillcrest's ZVS inverter into our powertrain and get our boat out on the water.”

Don Currie, CEO of Hillcrest, described the demonstration as a pivotal moment for the company and emphasized the potential commercial implications of the successful trial, hinting at a possible supply agreement with Hercules Electric Mobility.

“As the company continues to push the boundaries of power conversion technologies, the ZVS traction inverter promises to be a game-changer in the quest for more efficient, cost-effective, and reliable electrical systems," Currie said.

Hillcrest's ZVS traction inverter recently underwent electromagnetic compatibility tests in collaboration with a prominent European automotive manufacturer. Results indicated superior performance compared to conventional inverters, promising significant cost reductions in high-power electrical systems.
