Awalé Resources reports positive findings from Odienné drill campaign

Awale Resources Ltd (TSX-V:ARIC) has announced new assay results from its drilling program at the Odienné project, showcasing multiple shallow, high-grade intercepts.

The latest findings from the Côte d'Ivoire-based project include notable intercepts such as 75 meters at 2.4 grams per ton (g/t) gold equivalent (Au Eq) from 242 meters downhole.

The recent holes followed up on the BBM discovery in January 2024, reaffirming the continuity and scale potential of the BBM zone.

With all holes intersecting mineralization and the mineralization remaining open in all directions, Awalé Resources is encouraged by the robustness of the findings.

"We are delighted with these assays from the follow-up program at the BBM target. The mineralization is robust and we have now confirmed plunging high-grade mineralization over 500 meters of strike, which remains open in all directions,” Andrew Chubb, CEO of Awalé Resources said in a statement.

According to Awalé, the mineralization and alteration at the Odienné project are controlled by a shear zone following an intrusive/sedimentary contact. Drilling has covered two kilometers of strike along this shear zone within an eight-kilometer-long geochemical gold in termitaria trend.

With assay results from 14 holes for 2,537 meters drilled at BBM, Awalé Resources has established a solid geologic framework, enabling the company to progress with a targeted drilling program to assess the size potential, geological continuity, and grade of the mineralization.

“The consistently high-grade gold mineralization encountered in multiple drill holes underscores the prospectivity of our exploration area and highlights the substantial value it holds for our company and stakeholders,” Chubb added.

The company is now gearing up for a follow-up drill program scheduled to commence in April, aiming to further delineate the mineralization and explore for new parallel shoots along the open strike.

Odienné is under a joint venture agreement with Newmont Ventures Limited, wherein Newmont has the option to earn a minimum 65% interest in Odienné by funding exploration expenditures totaling US$15 million, with Awalé managing the project in the initial three-year phase.
