Air Astana Group, which became London’s first major public market debut for the year in February, has announced its 2023 annual results.
Kazakhstan's national carrier reported a revenue increase to $1.2 billion, up by 13.8% from 2022.
Operating profit came to $136 million, down from $148 million in 2022, with profit after tax coming to $68.7 million compared to $78.4 million in 2022.
The airline saw a passenger traffic growth of 10.1%, carrying 8.1 million passengers and achieving an 11.3% increase in revenue passenger kilometres to 14.6 billion.
Chief executive Peter Foster commented: "We are pleased to report our first set of results as a public company following our successful IPO across three stock exchanges last month.
“Air Astana delivered another strong year of growth in 2023 with record passenger numbers and increased capacity.
“All our markets continue to perform well and we have demonstrated our ability to grow the business and maintain sector-leading margins while managing cost headwinds across the industry.”
London-listed shares in the company dipped 0.55% to 9p on Friday, which is roughly on par with Air Astana’s debut price.
