Northstar Gold Corp. (CSE:NSG) said that recent surveys at its Rosegrove property have revealed significant gold and critical mineral anomalies.
The company announced new findings from recent LiDAR and MMI (Mobile Metal Ion) soil surveys conducted at the 100%-owned property in Ontario.
The surveys aimed to assess the potential for gold and critical mineral deposits, particularly along the Pacaud Fault Zone and northwest strike extensions of the Boston Creek Copper Trend.
Results revealed multiple magnetic, structural, and soil geochemical anomalies associated with gold and copper mineralization.
The surveys, partly funded by an Ontario Junior Exploration Program grant, identified gold anomalies linked to the Pacaud Fault Zone, indicating potential gold-bearing hydrothermal fluids in the area. Additionally, the results revealed critical minerals anomalies, including copper and zinc, suggesting the presence of volcanogenic massive sulphide horizons.
“Northstar is pleased with the number and magnitude of coincidental anomalies that clearly support the premise for gold and/or critical minerals deposits occurring at Rosegrove," George Pollock, Northstar's vice president of exploration said in a statement.
Pollock emphasized the importance of a systematic approach to mineral exploration, stating, "Early-stage mineral exploration in covered areas requires a methodical, integrated approach utilizing proven techniques."
"Northstar plans to ground truth these new exploration targets this coming summer by geological mapping, prospecting, sampling and trenching,” he added.
Northstar plans to validate these findings through geological mapping, prospecting, and trenching in the upcoming summer season. Detailed bedrock sampling and infill MMI soil sampling are also planned to further assess the mineralization potential of the property.
