Elon Musk to visit German Tesla plant hit by arson attack

Elon Musk will reportedly visit Tesla Inc’s German gigafactory on Wednesday after an arson attack last week left the plant without power for days.

Power was restored on Monday following the attack on a nearby power pylon, which halted production at the Tesla plant.

Local publication Table Media said Musk will visit the Gruenheide site on Wednesday, alongside meeting Brandenburg premier Dietmar Woidke and its economy minister, Joerg Steinbach.

Far-left activist group Vulkangruppe previously claimed responsibility for the attack, with Musk dubbing the attackers “extremely dumb” in response.

Some 1,000 vehicles were said to have been left unfinished when the attack took place last Tuesday, with the ensuing outage estimated to have cost Tesla a sum in the high hundreds of millions of euros.
