Bradda Head Lithium Limited (AIM:BHL, OTCQB:BHLIF, TSX-V:BHLI) told investors it has now begun drilling at its Basin project in Arizona, focusing on lithium in clay.
The aim of the programme of six drill holes is to support a new estimate of mineral resources.
Specifically, the company wants to increase the resource by at least 1.5 million tonnes, up to and exceeding 2.5 million tonnes – which would trigger a $3 million payment from Lithium Royalty Company.
Drilling is expected to conclude drilling before the end of April.
Providing more detail on the programme, Bradda Head commented in today’s statement: “This program is focused on significantly thicker clay sequences, consistent if not higher lithium grades and thicker lower clay sequence, with the potential to also discover new clays within the nearly 2km2 gravity low.
“Like previous drilling programs conducted at Basin, drill holes will be vertical, but when clay horizons are encountered the company's plan is to convert to a triple tube core capture technique which ensures high recovery and provides the company with many options for sampling, density measurements, and geotechnical data for future studies.”
