Domino's down 7.6% as current trading disappoints

Shares in Domino's Pizza Group PLC (LSE:DOM) saw its shares fall 7.6% as it said first-quarter underlying sales would likely be lower than the same period last year.

Domino's, the UK franchise of the US giant, reported a slight increase in its 2023 profits and earnings this year's profit to meet forecasts, thanks to decreasing raw material costs. Core profit for the 12 months just gone was £138.1 million on Turnover of £1.5 billion.

Aiming for £2 billion in sales by 2028, Domino's plans to expand its UK and Ireland stores to 1,600 and is targeting £2.5 billion in revenue by 2033 from 2,000 stores. Last year, turnover was £1.5 billion.

In early trade, the stock was off 24.2p at 344p.
