Abitibi Metals reports intersection of more significant sulphides at B26 Polymetallic Deposit

Abitibi Metals Corp (CSE:AMQ, OTC:AMQFF) announced that it continued to hit significant semi-massive and massive sulphides during its ongoing 10,000-meter drill program at the B26 Polymetallic Deposit located in Quebec.

The company noted that it has drilled a total of 7,074 meters across 22 holes to date.

At the B26 Main Deposit, highlights included drill hole 1274-24-301, which was drilled on the central section of the main deposit. It intersected an 11-meter interval and was seen to contain 10% to 15% chalcopyrite from 48.5 meters within a larger interval containing sub-parallel 1 centimeter to 10 centimeters chalcopyrite from 36 meters to 85.5 meters.

At the Satellite West Zone, it has drilled five holes totalling 1,803 meters targeting a new potential extension to the B26 Main Deposit.

Highlights from drilling at Satellite West included 7% sphalerite over 15 metres from 43.2 meters to 58.5 meters and 5% chalcopyrite over 20 meters from 116.5 metres to 136.1 meters in drillhole 1274-24-335.

Meanwhile, drilling at the Eastern Extension is ongoing, the company said.

It said here it is targeting the expansion of the Main Deposit to the east where historical drilling returned 2.45% copper equivalent over 26.7 meters, including 4.74% copper equivalent over 11.7 meters.

"The drilling at B26 is delivering exceptional observations of continuity of visual copper mineralization, and it is rare to have such great success so early in a maiden program, which speaks volumes to the potential of this high-grade project,” Abitibi CEO Jonathon Deluce said in a statement.

“With visuals supporting our objective of successfully testing the open-pit potential at the B26 Deposit with the goal of increasing near-surface tonnage over a 1-kilometer continuous strike length, we are currently reviewing the possibility of adding a third drill in order to continue the momentum of these positive developments.”

The company intends to complete the 10,000-meter drill program by the end of March as the first phase of a fully funded 30,000-meter 2024 field season.

Abitibi Metals is a Quebec-focused mineral acquisition and exploration company focused on the development of quality base and precious metal properties that are drill-ready with high-upside and expansion potential.
