British Land poaches new chair from pub group Marston's

British Land Company PLC (LSE:BLND) has nabbed the head of pub group Marston’s to be its new chair.

Wiliam Rucker will take over from existing chair Tom Score after its next AGM on 9 July, the property giant announced today.

Marston’s noted that chair Rucker would depart a day earlier "in view of his other increased business commitments".

As an executive, Ricker was best known as the boss of investment bank Lazard and also housebuilder Crest Nicholson.

Score is stepping down from British Land after a five-year stint as chair and ten years on the board of the FTSE 250 group.

'I am very proud to have served as Chair of British Land and am pleased to hand over to someone of William's calibre and experience to steer the business through its next chapter," he said.

Shares in FTSE 250 member British Land eased 0.8% to 365p while Marston’s dropped 1.7% to 29.4p.
