Ramsdens Holdings PLC (AIM:RFX) shot up 5% to 193p in opening trades on the publication of the pawnbroker’s latest trading update.
The pawnbroking book added £400,000 to £10.4 million over the five months to 29 February, while foreign currency gross profit increased approximately 3% year on year “with encouraging momentum building ahead of the key summer trading period”.
Gross profits derived from precious metals purchases increased by approximately 20% “reflecting continued growing consumer awareness of this service supported by a relatively high gold price”.
Shared retraced to 187p as morning exchanges continued.
