Progressive Planet Solutions Inc (TSX-V:PLAN) reported significant financial growth and improved profitability for 3Q 2024, attributed to strategic cost-cutting measures and the successful integration of acquisitions.
The cleantech company swung to a profit of $348,689, demonstrating a significant improvement compared to the $533,345 loss recorded in the same period last year.
As well, there was a 9.5% increase in revenue to $4,812,604 compared to the same period last year.
Gross profit also witnessed a substantial boost, soaring by 54.1% to $1,566,847, resulting in a commendable gross margin rise to 32.6%, up from 23.1% in the prior year's quarter.
Income from operations reached $549,255, a turnaround from the $420,896 loss incurred in the comparable year-ago quarter.
Key to this success were the strategic cost-cutting measures implemented by Progressive Planet. General and administrative expenses decreased by 17.7%, reflecting the company's commitment to efficiency and optimization of resources. These measures, coupled with enhanced gross margins, underscored Progressive Planet's dedication to profitability and sustainable growth.
“I am proud of the team effort it took to accomplish this record quarter and we will continue to focus on conducting high-margin business," said Steve Harpur, Progressive Planet’s CEO.
Steve Gurney, Progressive Planet’s president, told shareholders that the company’s focus going forward will be to grow its core business while using an internal team to develop a line of low-carbon cement products.
Gurney also noted that the acquisition of Absorbent Products in February 2022 is now a “fully integrated operation.”
Headquartered in Kamloops, BC, Progressive Planet boasts a robust product portfolio developed from owned mineral assets and recycled materials, aimed at combatting climate change and preserving the planet's health.
With products available in over 10,000 retail stores across North America, the company's innovations, crafted at the C-Quester Centre of Sustainable Innovation, are reshaping industries like cement, agriculture, and animal care, with a focus on reducing carbon footprints and restoring ecosystems.
