Netflix Inc (NASDAQ:NFLX, ETR:NFC) has announced it will stream Mike Tyson's upcoming fight with social media influencer Jake Paul.
The bout will take place on July 20 and will see the 57-year-old former heavyweight world champion take on the 27-year-old former Disney star.
Tyson retired from boxing in 2005, having won 26 of his fights by knockout and being crowned the youngest heavyweight champion in history at 20.
YouTuber Paul, whose ring nickname is ‘The Problem Child’, has fought seven bouts, including Tommy Fury, brother of current world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
Netflix will broadcast the fight live as part of the streaming service's expansion into sports, having shown a live match of tennis between Rafa Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz last week.
Named the Netflix Slam, the tennis broadcast follows the Netflix Cup, a one-off golf tournament which saw F1 drivers crossover with pros.
Shares in Netflix are up 1% on Thursday.
Since retiring, Tyson has become known as an entrepreneur and cannabis advocate, including cannabis company Tyson 2.0 and with product launches including energy drinks.
The latter interest he shares with the Paul family, with Jake's fellow YouTuber brother Paul famous for his PRIME 'hydration drink' brand.
