Spectral AI Inc (NASDAQ:MDAI) announced that it has created a wholly-owned subsidiary dedicated to advancing intellectual property (IP) related to the broader AI ecosystem, with a focus on healthcare.
“After conducting a comprehensive review of our IP portfolio, we are confident that Spectral AI has effectively safeguarded its current and anticipated future product offerings through a combination of patents and trade secrets,” CEO Pete Carlson said in a statement.
“During this review, we identified additional opportunities for the company to enhance its position and add value for its shareholders by developing or acquiring IP applicable to the broader AI ecosystem, specifically within healthcare.”
Dallas, Texas-based Spectral AI is a predictive AI company focused on medical diagnosis for faster and more accurate treatment decisions in wound care, with initial applications involving patients with burns and diabetic foot ulcers.
