The Australia-Vietnam Green Economy Summit will take place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on April 15-16, offering an opportunity for Australian and Vietnamese businesses and policymakers to explore commercial opportunities, financing and advance areas for collaboration to accelerate the energy transition.
Vietnam is one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia, with a rich critical mineral wealth that places it squarely at the centre of the energy transition in Southeast Asia and the Pacific.
The summit will aim to foster sustainable development, job creation and a transition to renewable resources and net zero emissions, led by Asialink and Climateworks Centre and supported by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade).
Collaborating toward a sustainable future
“Southeast Asia’s journey to a sustainable future unveils significant collaborative potential for Australia and Vietnam,” Asialink CEO Martine Letts said.
“The Australia-Vietnam Green Economy Program showcases the importance of knowledge-sharing, cultivating relationships and equipping Australian businesses for these emerging opportunities.”
The Australian Government announced an A$105 million aid package in June last year for sustainable infrastructure planning and private investment in clean energy infrastructure in Vietnam.
"Australia is committed to fostering green economy collaboration with Vietnam,” Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski said.
Asialink Business CEO Leigh Howard said the Australia-Vietnam Green Economy Program signified its dedication to sustainable business partnerships, mutual growth and a shared vision for a greener future.
