Lloyds Bank, Nvidia & Helium One Global: Most popular stocks revealed

Lloyds, Nvidia, Rolls Royce and Helium One Global were some of the most bought stocks in February, according to Interactive Investor.

Helium One Global was the most bought stock during the month, with shares in the gas explorer having jumped around 720% since the start of the year.

Shares in the company soared after it was revealed downhole well testing "clearly confirmed" the presence of a producing helium province in the Rukwa Rift Basin in Tanzania.

Following behind the AIM-listed riser as the most popular stocks were Nvidia, Lloyds, Rolls Royce, Glencore and Vodafone.

Richard Hunter, head of markets at Interactive Investor, said: “Banks continued to be a focus of interest as they posted full-year results, with the likes of Lloyds Banking and HSBC appearing in the top ten.

“Mixed reactions to each of the banks’ numbers provided some opportunities to buy on the dip.”

Nvidia’s popularity is likely little surprise to any US investors, with the chipmaker’s shares continuing to rocket and break Wall Street records as the AI boom continues.

Last month, Nvidia recorded the largest single-session gain in stock market history.

“Despite the shares now being up by almost 250% over the last year, it appears that investor appetite for the stock remains undiminished,” Hunter added.
