Elon Musk is set for another legal action, this time from former Twitter executives who say severance payments have yet to be made.
Four executives including former chief executive Parag Agrawal claim they are owed US$128 million with Musk making up “fake cause” to avoid paying them off.
In the writ, the former executives allege the non-payment is part of a larger pattern by Musk to avoid paying staff that he fired when took over the social media business.
Former chief financial officer Ned Segal, former chief legal officer Vijaya Gadde and former general counsel Sean Edgett are the other plaintiffs.
The four are claiming one year's salary and stock awards that would be worth more than US$57 million for Agrawal; more than US$44 million for Segal; more than US$20 million for Gadde; and more than US$6 million for Edgett.
Musk purchased Twitter in 2022 for $44 billion.
According to the lawsuit, the four men were told they had been sacked for "gross negligence and wilful misconduct".
"Musk doesn't pay his bills, believes the rules don't apply to him, and uses his wealth and power to run roughshod over anyone who disagrees with him," read the filing in the federal court in California.
Twitter, now called X, has said previously all staff were paid up in full.
