Royals roads Minerals CEO Dr. Tim Coughlin joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share an update on its exploration activities at the Alouana and Jabal Sahabiyah projects in the Kingdoms of Morocco and Saudi Arabia. In Morocco, the Elewana project is more advanced and ready for drilling. The exploration team has been conducting pre-drill stage activities, including surface geochemistry, geophysics, and mapping, to identify potential drilling sites.
The target is to find a potential for around a million tonnes of contained copper. The focus is on areas with historical mining by French miners in the early 1800s, where both flat and steep dipping mineralization were developed. The initial drilling will concentrate on the flat dipping mineralization areas. Overall, Morocco is set to be the primary focus for 2024, with the company also running a continuous reconnaissance program in Saudi Arabia.
The exploration environment in Saudi Arabia is described as very early stage, with ongoing efforts to identify and develop potential projects. Meanwhile, in Morocco, there is an existing mining property market, and Royal Roads Minerals is engaging with more advanced projects for potential deals.
