Japan Gold (TSX-V:JG) has unveiled industry veteran Fraser MacCorquodale as its new president and chief operating officer.
Having worked in the copper and gold sector for 35 years, MacCorquodale has expertise in near-mine, brownfield and greenfield exploration from projects across the world, the firm said on Wednesday.
“We are pleased to have attracted such a strong and accomplished technical leader to drive value in our projects during an exciting growth phase for Japan Gold (TSX-V:JG),” chief executive John Proust said.
“Fraser's strong targeting skills, based on a deep technical knowledge of epithermal gold and porphyry copper-gold deposits and his team development and leadership skills, will be instrumental.”
MacCorquodale served as Newcrest Mining Ltd’s general exploration manager between 2008 and 2023, which Japan Gold added had made him renowned for several major discoveries.
“The company has done great work to build a high-quality exploration portfolio within a re-emerging country with demonstrated gold prospectivity,” MacCorquodale commented.
“I look forward to leading the Japan Gold operational team to advance these opportunities.”
