Torr Metals (TSX-V:TMET) has announced a significant copper-gold discovery from its 2023 soil sampling program at the Kolos project in British Columbia.
The company revealed an additional 857 assay results, totaling 1,753 to date, covering an expanded area of 17.4 square kilometers (km).
Significant mineralized envelopes of over 200 parts per million copper (Cu) were found in the Kirby, Lodi, and Ace Zones, showcasing a vast mineralizing system with potential extensions.
The latest soil samples cover an area of 4 km by 3.5 km.
Among these samples, 211 indicated copper values over 100 ppm, with 50 surpassing 200 ppm. Additionally, 154 samples yielded gold values over 10 ppb, with 61 exceeding 20 ppb.
Torr anticipates further defining and potentially extending mineralization zones with pending results from an additional 1,595 soil samples and 47 rock grab samples.
Situated within a significant porphyry belt in British Columbia and never drill tested, the Kolos project is strategically located with highway accessibility.
"The remarkable findings at Kolos underscore the immense potential of our 2023 exploration efforts,” Malcolm Dorsey, CEO of Torr Metals (TSX-V:TMET) said in a statement.
“We are uncovering a substantial multi-kilometre trend of undrilled anomalous copper and gold cluster porphyry targets while also strategically positioning Torr as a key player in the prolific Quesnel Trough.
"These results affirm our commitment to unlocking Kolos' full potential, and we eagerly anticipate further discoveries and opportunities as we continue to receive results."
Ongoing interpretation aims to pave the way for future drill targeting, the company added.
