Capita PLC (LSE:CPI) shares traded higher in Wednesday morning’s trade, after announcing an expansion of a partnership with a European telecommunications provider that it’s worked with for 25 years, with a new deal worth up to £220 million.
It sees the outsourcing firm deliver customer experience services, including technical support, across a spectrum of consumer and business products like mobile phones and TV, along with supporting order fulfilment.
The contract is expected to run until 2030, with an option to extend for another three years, Capita said.
It is in addition to an existing contract, worth £200 million between now and 2027, the company added.
Capita meanwhile highlighted that it will leverage conversational AI systems including chatbots and messaging channels in delivery of the contract, making customer interactions with the telecoms provider smoother, quicker, and more helpful.
"We are focused on embedding technology to enable greater efficiency and provide a better, personalised customer experience,” chief executive Adolfo Hernandez said.
“We will continue to look for opportunities to enhance the customer experience and the productivity of our client."
In London, Capita shares were up 4.13% changing hands at 20.85p each.
