Nano One Materials Corp (TSX:NANO, OTC:NNOMF) CEO Dan Blondal joined Steve Darling from Proactive to provide an update on the beginning of their feasibility study, marking a significant step toward the establishment of their first commercial Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) production facility. The company has initiated work on a feasibility study for a 25,000 metric tons per annum (tpa) LFP plant, aimed at supporting the securing of customer offtake agreements, feedstock supply, and future project funding.
BBA has been selected to conduct the feasibility study, leveraging their extensive experience with the Candiac plant and proven expertise in supporting the successful operation of Nano One's 200 tpa pilot plant. Blondal emphasized that Nano One remains well-capitalized and is actively seeking opportunities to secure support from governments. They highlighted the critical milestones required for the first commercial plant, including the completion of the Front End Loading (FEL) 3 stage, product validation, and securing customer offtake and feedstock supply agreements.
These milestones are fundamental for project financing and are top priorities for Nano One in 2024. Overall, the initiation of the feasibility study marks a significant advancement for Nano One as it progresses toward the establishment of its first commercial LFP production facility, positioning the company to capitalize on the growing demand for lithium-ion battery materials.
