Frasers Group PLC (LSE:FRAS) has announced the appointment of new 'high-calibre' directors, including Sir Jon Thompson, the former head of the accountancy watchdog, the Financial Reporting Council.
He will become a non-executive member of the board along with Helen Wright, the Global CEO of Sergio Rossi.
Frasers' chief operating officer, David Al-Mudallal, and Ger Wright, managing director of the sports operation, are to become executives of the retailer.
The owner of Sports Direct, Flannels and Jack Wills said the appointments were the latest aspect of Frasers' long-term growth and 'elevation' strategy.
"Much has changed at Frasers over recent years and today is another significant milestone in our transformation as we welcome new high-calibre individuals to the board," said chair, David Daley.
"I know that we will benefit from their leadership and expertise. I'm also delighted that their appointments further diversify our Board, ensuring that we have the range of skills and views required to enable the future success of the elevation strategy."
