Great Boulder Resources confirms large-scale gold system along Ironbark corridor at Side Well

Great Boulder Resources Ltd (ASX:GBR) has intersected gold over a strike of more than 300 metres along the Ironbark corridor of the Side Well Gold Project in Western Australia.

A recent round of aircore drilling unearthed several gold hits, including 14 metres at 1.15 g/t gold from 72 metres to the end of hole, including 4 metres at 2.43 g/t from 72 metres and 4 metres at 2.08 g/t from 64 metres.

The first result originated from 50 metres north of the Saltbush historical workings at Side Well, while the second came from 100 metres south of the same area, extending the total strike of the Satlbush prospect to more than 300 metres and it still remains open in both directions.

Promising new gold target

“Our early-stage exploration within the Ironbark corridor is looking very exciting as we start to fill in the gaps,” Great Boulder Resources managing director Andrew Paterson said.

“Firstly, aircore drilling has extended the known gold mineralisation at Saltbush along strike in both directions. These results will be followed up in the next drill campaign starting in March.

“Secondly, we’ve identified a new target 400 metres away with extremely high levels of Mulga Bill-style pathfinder elements.

“The surface outcrop is a zone of gossanous alteration with strongly laminated quartz veins.

“The peak bismuth value is approximately 10 times higher than anything we’ve seen at Side Well before, with elevated gold, silver, molybdenum and copper which are characteristic of Mulga Bill.

“This suggests we have both styles of mineralisation within the Ironbark corridor target area which is an exciting development.

“We’ll be drilling both areas during March and I look forward to reporting the results as soon as possible.”

The new target was identified with rock chip samples from a 100-metre-long zone of gossanous and strongly laminated quartz veins, which returned assays up to 0.6 g/t gold and 81 g/t silver with very high levels of pathfinder elements, and supported by recent aircore drilling along strike from the target’s location.

The next phase of drilling will include additional aircore and reverse circulation drilling at Saltbush, a small program of aircore holes testing the new target north of Saltbush and a series of lines testing the broad pathfinder anomalies north of Ironbark.
