Lorenzo Serratosa, CEO of Subgen AI a subsidiary of Substrate Artificial Intelligence (AQSE:SAI.B, OTCQB:SUIAF), introduces Serenity Star, the company's flagship generative AI ecosystem designed to democratise AI adoption in business and government.
What is Subgen AI and what is Serenity Star?
Subgen AI is a company based in the UK with sub-offices in Spain, the USA and Latam focused on the development of generative AI whose objective is to democratise the use of generative AI in companies and governments, overcoming the barriers that currently prevent its massive use, such as the problem of data control or the problem of ethics and compliance of companies that do not want decisions to be made. taken by an AI can impact your reputation.
The answer to these problems and many others related to the implementation of generative AI is Serenity Star. An ecosystem of generative AI solutions in which any company, start-up or corporation can find everything they need to implement generative AI in all their processes, from more than 100 LLMs (large language models) including the one developed by us to all kinds of agents, co-pilots or plugins.
What do you aspire to with this company and this product?
With Subgen AI and Serenty Star, we aspire to be leaders in the development and deployment of generative AI in Europe. Europe is lagging behind the US in the development of AI, there are no large companies focused on this sector. The UK aspires to be a decisive player in the development and implementation of generative AI in Europe, helping companies and governments to be able to use the full power of this technology while avoiding the risks that come with it.
The UK must play a leading role in this field given the huge ecosystem that exists around AI and must do so to lead the implementation of this technology in Europe.
Is there still room on the market for new large language models?
Of course. In this field, although it seems that everything is done due to the large amount of development carried out in a very short time, we are still in the moment that we call "first mobile phone", that is, there is still a long time to reach smartphones and many things that we will see happening in the business ecosystem of AI that is now beginning to be confirmed.
The great LLMs we know are good at many things, but at others they are very bad, for example in mathematics, and in those fields there is still a lot to do and a lot to research. We are especially interested in the utilities that large models do not cover and that are important for companies and governments, for B2B rather than B2C environments, such as the conversion of data from one format to another, etc.;
Where is generative AI going and what can we expect from its evolution in the coming years?
As I said, we are at the moment of the "first mobile phone" in this technology and many things must happen around it in the coming years. According to Gartner, the use of this technology by companies should go from 5% to 80% in just over 5 years, that is a huge challenge, a huge challenge that involves developing products that facilitate this massive use such as Serenity Star, solving problems such as data control, compliance or decision ethics, but also others such as that the investments made by companies are predictable and cannot be interrupted throwing a lot of money away, as we have already seen has happened in many cases, or that all the solutions applied can be updated in real time, unleashing all the possibilities that this technology can offer in terms of creating competitive advantages that can be used to generate efficiencies and therefore greater profitability in all areas.
What is the relationship between Subgen AI and Substrate AI, the company listed on the Aquis London and the American OTC?
Subgen AI is a company that is currently 20% owned by its executives and key personnel, including myself, and 80% by Substrate AI, the Spanish AI company listed on the London Aquis Index, the American OTC but also on the Spanish BME growth.
Substrate AI has given us all the support we have needed to grow and get to where we are, both financial and personnel support and extremely necessary advice to be able to develop a project that has a very strong research base which means resources and direction.
Today, Subgen AI is a strong company with a turnover that we expect to be around 10m by 2024 and that is preparing for the new challenges it will have in the coming years, either in terms of product development and research in the area of generative AI, or in the financial field with a possible IPO in London.
Who makes up the team that has developed Serenity Star?
I am proud to say that the team that has developed Serenity Star is made up of more than 4 nationalities. with what this means in terms of enriching visions, needs and ways of understanding the world. Its leader is Leadro Harillo, Argentinian, a spectacular engineer with more than 20 years of experience in the development of software products.
He is joined by the American Bren Worth and Mei Si leading the teams. Bren focused on our own products, including Serenity Star and Mei, leading the development of our own LLMs, a field in which he has more than 15 years of experience and in which he has worked for companies such as Disney or Amazon.
With these leaders and the more than 100 developers currently working with them, we are confident that Serenity Star will be the ecosystem used by many companies and governments as a foundation in building their generative AI applications
