Pacific Empire Minerals Corporation (TSX-V:PEMC, OTCQB:PEMSF) said it had engaged a geophysics company for a planned airborne survey on two of its properties in the South Hogem Copper-Gold Belt.
The company has contracted Expert Geophysics Ltd to conduct an airborne Mobile MagnetoTelluric (MT) survey at its Trident and Pinnacle copper-gold projects, according to a release from Pacific Empire.
The MT survey method is known for its ability to detect basement electromagnetic (EM) conductors and anomalous resistivity zones, key indicators of potential copper-gold porphyry systems.
Pacific Empire’s planned survey covers 164 line-kilometers, focusing on the primary target area at Trident, where historical assays have shown promising results.
The survey will extend to the adjacent Pinnacle property, aiming to identify and prioritize target areas for drilling during the upcoming summer exploration season.
Brad Peters, CEO of Pacific Empire, told shareholders that the aim of the MT survey is to identify potential “plumbing systems" –essentially the network of conduits or pathways through which hydrothermal fluids flow beneath the Earth's surface – that could lead to the discovery of gold-enriched copper porphyry deposit within this district.
“Trident for the very first time is 100% owned by a public company with an updated porphyry geological model established by our skilled technical team,” Peters said in a statement.
The data collected will provide insights into source fluid conduits and structures, aiding in the identification of exploration targets for future drilling programs.
The survey, conducted using an Astar 350 B2 helicopter provided by Heli Source Ltd., is set to commence in late February to early March. Final results are expected to be available within three weeks after survey completion.
