Train drivers from five operators have voted in favour of further strikes, meaning union Aslef now has action ongoing against all 16 companies where there is a dispute currently ongoing.
Union members at Chiltern Railways, c2c, East Midlands Railway, Northern Trains and TransPennine Trains workers all voted in favour of strikes, Aslef announced on Wednesday.
“These results show - yet again - a clear rejection by train drivers of the ridiculous offer put to us in April last year,” union boss Mick Whelan said.
Train operators had offered a 4% rise in driver’s average salaries to £65,000 for a 35-hour, four-day week, according to rail minister Huw Merriman.
Drivers at LNER and Northern meanwhile will strike on March 1 with further disruption in the days before and after.
ASLEF has been taking industrial action over its pay claim since April last year.
