Electric Royalties moving forward with Ontario Lithium Projects acquisition

Electric Royalties Ltd (TSX-V:ELEC, OTC:ELECF) has provided an update on its proposed acquisition of 126 lithium properties, known as the Ontario Lithium Projects (OLP), situated in Eastern Canada.

The company's CEO, Brendan Yurik, told shareholders that the due diligence process is ongoing.

In a statement, Yurik said that the acquisition is “an opportunity to participate in one of the most exciting early-stage exploration areas in North America, at a time when Canadian-sourced lithium is increasingly prized for shortening supply chains for US battery plants.”

Additionally, the OLP encompasses various promising lithium exploration sites, including the Root Bay project by Green Technology Metals and the Georgia Lake Project by Rock Tech Lithium. These projects have showcased significant lithium resources and exploration potential, further enhancing the attractiveness of the OLP acquisition.

Electric Royalties' interest in the OLP acquisition is further fueled by the properties' strategic location adjacent to prominent lithium exploration and development projects in North America. Notable among these is Frontier Lithium (TSX-V:FL, OTCQX:LITOF)'s PAK and Spark deposits, which recently reported positive pre-feasibility study results.

The global shift towards clean energy technologies is anticipated to drive a substantial surge in demand for battery metals, with lithium being a key component. According to forecasts by the International Energy Agency (IEA), lithium demand could skyrocket by up to 40 times by 2040 as clean energy technologies dominate the market.
