Hemogenyx shares jump 16% on nasal delivery news

Shares in HemoGenyx Pharmaceuticals (LSE:HEMO) PLC rose 16% following the announcement that its chimeric bait receptor (CBR) technology for combatting airborne viral infections can be delivered intranasally using messenger RNA (mRNA).

In the lab it was able to demonstrate that mRNA encoding the CBR can be administered as nanoparticles to the upper respiratory tract and lungs, showing promise for easy and effective treatment.

The innovative delivery method meets the need for treatments that are both simple to apply and stable at room temperature.

In early trade, the stock was changing hands for 3.48p, up 0.47p.
