Sidus Space Inc (NASDAQ:SIDU), revealed production of its two satellites is progressing as planned, ahead of their launches later this year.
LizzieSat’s LS-2 and LS-3 are set to be small satellites roughly the size of a dishwasher, weighing around 220lb and being built through a hybrid 3D printer.
As a medium-sized low-cost satellite, it will have a longer on-orbit life and have improved functionality when compared to other commercial earth observation satellites.
“We designed the LizzieSat platform to be rapidly scalable and technology agnostic, to allow for rapid integration of new sensors as the space ecosystem evolves and industries and businesses embrace space strategy to enhance their offerings," said Carol Craig, CEO of Sidus Space.
It follows the successful delivery of LS-1 to the Space-X launch site in Vandenburg, California.
Building on the build and test campaign of the LS-1 satellite, the company is now hoping to improve the situational awareness, customer payloads and observation sensors of its new products.
