Mila Resources said lithium-focused neighbour and partner Liontown has completed an aerial image drone survey over the Kathleen Valley gold project.
Environmental and heritage surveys are now underway to locate sites of state and local heritage significance, as well as potential conservation areas.
Once these are finished, tailored exploration can start around these areas, Mila said.
Under their collaboration, Mila is exploring for gold at Kathleen Valley and Liontown for lithium.
Liontown will now carry out a soil sampling programme to identify lithium deposits, while Mila will use the results to identify gold outside of its current Coffey deposit.
Mark Stephenson, Mila’s executive chairman, commented: "We're entering a busy period at Kathleen Valley, and the benefits of our collaboration with Liontown are becoming evident.
“Once the environmental and heritage surveys have been completed, Mila will be able to advance in defining known targets in the northern part of the property.
“Furthermore, Liontown's work in collecting soil samples enables us the option to analyse them for precious and base metals, providing a more comprehensive understanding of our license package and guiding our next actions."
