Azure Minerals finds more broad, high-grade lithium at Andover

Azure Minerals Ltd (ASX:AZS, OTC:AZRMF) has fielded some “very impressive” results from ongoing drilling at the Andover Project, in which it has a 60% stake, in Western Australia.

The company has received a series of substantial lithium oxide (Li2O) intersections, highlighting the project's potential to host globally significant lithium deposits.

Strong results

Key findings include 112.9 metres at 1.63% Li2O and 152.3 metres at 1.15% Li2O.

In addition to these, there were several other intersections over 100 metres with Li2O concentrations exceeding 1.00%, such as:

  • 112 metres at 1.24% Li2O;
  • 106.1 metres at 1.30%;
  • 125.2 metres at 1.00%; and
  • 112.1 metres at 1.11%.

These results stem from the AP0011 pegmatite within Target Area 1 (TA1) and reinforce the company’s confidence in Andover as prime lithium territory.

The Andover pegmatite swarm, characterised by its extensive lithium-bearing pegmatites, spans an area of 9 kilometres east-west and up to 5 kilometres north-south.

Extensive surface sampling and geological mapping have identified high lithium grades across numerous outcrops.

To date, Azure has completed 217 diamond core holes, covering a cumulative depth of 69,669.8 metres, alongside 94 reverse circulation (RC) holes and 28 holes combining RC pre-collars and diamond tails.

These efforts are part of a broader exploration and resource definition campaign aimed at delineating the full extent of lithium mineralisation within the project area.

Continuity of mineralisation

The drilling campaign has also been instrumental in confirming the continuity of mineralisation, with intersections demonstrating strong correlation to previously reported high-grade zones.

Notably, drill holes have revealed thickened mineralisation zones and have extended known lithium-bearing structures both along strike and at depth.

Azure Minerals plans to maintain its aggressive drilling schedule, with eight rigs operational for exploration and resource definition purposes.

A ninth rig is dedicated to collecting bulk core samples for metallurgical testing.
