Standard Uranium increases footprint in uranium-rich Athabasca Basin with Harrison acquisition, Ascent expansion

Standard Uranium Ltd (TSX-V:STND, OTCQB:STTDF) announced that it has acquired by staking the Harrison uranium project in the southwest Athabasca Basin region in northern Saskatchewan, Canada.

The 1,750-hectare Harrison project area covers several kilometers of untested conductors incident with magnetic low trends and key structural geology attributes, the company said.

It is located 22 kilometers south-southeast of the Shea Creek uranium deposits and about 30 kilometers southeast of the past-producing Cluff Lake uranium mine.

The company believes the project is prospective for the discovery of high-grade unconformity-related uranium mineralization, considering uranium mineralization with concentrations greater than 1% by weight triuranium octoxide (a compound of uranium) to be “high grade.”

Further, Standard Uranium said it has expanded its Ascent project, also located in the Athabasca Basin region, by 3,728 hectares which effectively doubles the project size and provides highly prospective shallow drill targets.

Following these two developments, the company has ownership interests in 11 properties totalling more than 209,867 hectares across the uranium-rich Basin.

“As we continue our low-cost staking efforts across the Basin, we aim to grow and diversify our portfolio of projects enabling Standard Uranium to drive forward with dedicated exploration and collaboration with other companies,” Standard Uranium President & VP Exploration Sean Hillacre said in a statement.

“Picking up another piece of promising land in the southwest uranium district adds good value to our land package, in addition to doubling the size of Ascent. We look forward to the transactional and exploration upside we can derive from these new claims in 2024.”

Standard Uranium is a uranium exploration company and emerging project generator poised for discovery in the world’s richest uranium district. The company holds interest in over 209,867 acres (84,930 hectares) in the world-class Athabasca Basin in Saskatchewan, Canada.
