Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd (TSX-V:GMG, OTC:GMGMF) has made significant progress in its Graphene Aluminium-Ion Battery technology development, reaching a crucial milestone by producing multiple pouch cells with over 1000 mAh capacity, it said Tuesday.
This advancement demonstrates the scalability of the technology from coin cells to pouch cells.
GMG's Graphene Aluminium-Ion Battery technology offers promising potential for high-performance and sustainable energy solutions. With the successful production of pouch cells exceeding 1000 mAh capacity, GMG aims to further validate its technology through third-party laboratory testing data, expected to be completed in the first half of 2024.
GMG also said it is exploring strategic investment opportunities to establish an automated pilot plant at its Richlands Australia Facility. The pilot plant would enable the company to produce pouch cells for potential customer testing, facilitating the transition towards large-scale commercial production.
The company told shareholders that further optimization and testing are necessary to fully realize the potential of its Graphene Aluminium-Ion Battery technology.
The company's battery technology readiness level currently stands at Level 4, with the potential to advance to Level 7 and 8 upon establishing the pilot plant.
