Gulf Keystone Petroleum makes management changes

Gulf Keystone Petroleum Limited (LSE:GKP) (GKP) has announced the planned departure of chief financial officer Ian Weatherdon, who will leave the company in June.

The company, which operates oil assets in northern Iraq, told investors that its current chief commercial officer, Gabriel Papineau-Legris, will transition into the CFO role.

“He [Weatherdon] has played a key role in strengthening GKP’s balance sheet and achieving industry leading returns to shareholders during our profitable growth phase,” GKP chair Martin Angle said.

“He has also managed the company’s liquidity very successfully during difficult times including Covid and the ITP shut-in. We wish Ian well for his deserved retirement and welcome Gabriel as the new CFO and board member."

Also, GKP’s senior independent director Kimberley Wood is to step down on the earlier of a replacement being appointed or the date of the 2024 AGM. It comes after she accepted an executive director role elsewhere and, as a result, is required to reduce her board commitments.
