Close The Loop Ltd CEO Joe Foster joins Proactive’s Elisha Newell in the virtual studio to discuss advancements in the company’s resource recovery efforts, having recently completed and begun commissioning of a new post-consumer soft plastic recycling facility in Melbourne, Australia. The circular economy-based company is focused on providing best-in-class sustainability solutions and plans to roll out several additional plants across the country – meeting demand for its asphalt binder additive, TonerPlas®, among other value products generated from landfill-bound waste. More than 450,000 tonnes of soft plastic go into landfill every year here in Australia – Close the Loop intends to process in excess of 5,000 tonnes of finished product manufactured in one plant alone from this waste. The company’s strategy is to work with local governments and councils to build a system where waste can be turned into tangible products with real value.
