Bloomsbury Publishing PLC (LSE:BMY) said House of Flame and Shadow, the latest novel by star author Sarah J Maas, had reached number one globally on Amazon just two days after launch on 30 January.
The novel is top of Amazon’s lists in the US, UK, Australia, Germany, France, Sweden and Spain, the publisher noted.
House of Flame and Shadow is the third instalment in the Crescent City series, following global bestsellers House of Earth and Blood and House of Sky and Breath.
All of Sarah J Maas' 16 books have been published by Bloomsbury with a further six books under contract.
At its half-year, Bloomsbury reported that Sarah J Maas sales were up 79% year-on-year, reflecting strong backlist sales across all three series: A Court of Thorns and Roses, Throne of Glass and Crescent City.
Sales in the UK of the Fantasy and Sci-Fi genre meanwhile are up 54% in the last five years, it added.
Bloomsbury also pointed to the other writers in this genre it publishes notably Samantha Shannon, Women's Prize winner Susanna Clarke, Alan Moore, and Cixin Liu, whose Three Body Problem series is soon to be streamed by Netflix.

Bloomsbury also publishes the Harry Potter books penned by JK Rowling.
