First Phosphate announces beginning of 25,000 metre drill program at Begin-Lamarche

First Phosphate announces beginning of 25,000 metre drill program at Begin-Lamarche

First Phosphate Corp CEO John Passalacqua and Chief Geologist Gilles Laverdiere recently shared important news with Steve Darling from Proactive. The company is set to embark on a substantial 25,000-meter drill program at its Bégin-Lamarche Project, representing a significant milestone in its development. This drilling program follows a recent successful financing round that raised gross proceeds of $8.2 million, providing the necessary capital to advance the project. The primary objective of the drilling program is to work towards establishing a maiden NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate, followed by a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA).

The program itself will involve drilling along the 3-kilometer-long phosphate mineralization strike zone, with sampling taken at every 100-meter section and at 50-meter intervals within each section. Commencing in the coming weeks, the program will deploy three drill rigs, with one rig being mobilized per week. The company already possesses existing drill permits that enable an immediate start to the program, and it has also sought additional drill permits to expand the scope of drilling. In summary, First Phosphate Corp's upcoming drill program at the Bégin-Lamarche Project marks a pivotal step in advancing the project and realizing its potential.

The successful financing round underscores the company's commitment to growth and development in the phosphate mining sector. As the program gets underway, it is expected to yield valuable data that will inform the resource estimate and PEA, driving the project closer to its ultimate goal of production and value creation. The company has also announced they have been invited to present to the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean Region of Quebec on February 8, 2024. This is now the second time they have been invited.
