Plug Power (NASDAQ:PLUG) is set to charge higher when trading begins on Thursday after the hydrogen specialist said it filled the first tanker with liquid green hydrogen produced at its plant in Georgia for delivery to customers including Amazon and Walmart.
Last week, the shares climbed off a recent four-and-a-half-year low when the Nasdaq-listed group announced the start of operations at the plant.
Today, one of its cryogenic trailers was filled with liquid hydrogen and set off to deliver to the first customers, which were said to also included Home Depot.
The tanker will deliver enough hydrogen to fuel 3,216 forklifts a day, Plug said, as the cryogenic trailers can transport up to 80,000 pounds worth of hydrogen, the same amount of fuel as eight standard gas tube trailers.
Plug's plant is made up of eight 5MW electrolyzers, which it says can produce up to 15 tons per day of liquid green hydrogen.
It took four days to produce the initial hydrogen and fill the tanker, Plug said, with trailers now set to continue delivering hydrogen to customers.
