Golden Shield Resources (CSE:GSRI, OTCQB:GSRFF) announced that it has received all of the results from its reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at its Marudi Mountain project in Guyana which will be used to identify targets for its ongoing diamond drilling program.
The company said it achieved the best intersection of its RC drilling campaign to date at Pancake Creek prospect at 1.45 grams per ton of gold (g/t) over 20 meters (m).
The preliminary results from all 47 RC drill holes at Pancake Creek suggest high-grade gold mineralization from the surface in two corridors that trend in a northwest-southwest direction.
"The RC results have defined exciting targets for diamond drill follow-up," Golden Shield executive chairman Leo Hathaway said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Golden Shield has kicked off its diamond drill program at Pancake Creek with an initial hole completed and a second hole underway.
An initial hill at the Mazoa Hill deposit has been abandoned at 417m due to excessive deviation. Samples from this hole have been submitted for assay with results pending.
The company plans to redrill a hole targeting depth extension after the Pancake Creek drill program is completed.
Hathaway noted: "While drilling at Mazoa Hill deviated more than expected, it passed through the upper part of the Mazoa Hill deposit and in a direction not previously drilled, and will be very useful in corroborating previous drill results. We are excited to be diamond drilling and we continue to learn more with every hole."
Golden Shield was founded by experienced professionals who are convinced there are many more gold mines yet to be found in Guyana. It has three wholly controlled projects: Marudi Mountain, Arakaka and Fish Creek.
