Oakmount & Partners Ltd Glenn King detailed an optimistic start to 2024, following a challenging yet successful previous year.
In an interview with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion, King discussed Oakmount's five-year target to raise £50 million, intended for investment in green technologies and industries with transformative potential. The firm aims to acquire high-value assets in sectors like agriculture, sustainable resources, strategic minerals, and notably real estate, capitalizing on current market undervaluations.
King emphasized stakeholder engagement as a top priority, maintaining regular updates and leveraging a loyal client base of nearly two decades. Oakmount, recently valued between £15-18 million, aspires to escalate its valuation to £80-100 million within five years. This ambitious growth plan includes transitioning to a PLC, focusing on maximizing shareholder gains.
Discussing potential acquisitions, King mentioned ongoing negotiations, including a decade-long involvement in a green mining initiative producing rare earth elements, lithium, and gold. This aligns with Oakmount's portfolio strategy aimed at maximizing profits and shareholder value.
He anticipates significant developments in the coming year, with a potential IPO within the next three to five years, subject to capital inflow and market conditions.
