Sidus Space hands satellite over to SpaceX ready for launch

Sidus Space Inc (NASDAQ:SIDU) said its LizzieSat satellite is ready to be launched and has been turned over to SpaceX ahead of the rideshare mission scheduled for March.

The space data collection company, which this week also launched a $5.6 million share issue, said this followed the completion of launch processing at the Astrotech Space Operations facility at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

Final steps completed by the Sidus team including mating the satellite to the separation system and the launch vehicle adapter, making it ready to be mounted to SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket for the Transporter-10 mission.

Onboard the part-3D-printed satellite bus is the company’s FeatherEdge AI system, which will process imagery and other data from space-based sensors to offer tailored data for potential customers across defense, agriculture, maritime, and oil and gas industries.

Founder and chief executive officer Carol Craig, after whom the satellite is named, said: "LizzieSat's distinctive multi-sensor data collection platform represents a paradigm shift, offering tangible impacts across multiple industries through the utilization of cutting-edge on-orbit satellite technology.

"This innovative approach consolidates various data sources into a single on-orbit asset, showcasing the transformative power of advanced space technology in revolutionizing how industries access and utilize crucial information."

Further satellites are in production to expand the LizzieSat constellation, the company said, with launches planned for this year and later.
