Maximus Resources drills into 2-kilometre target at Hilditch South target of Spargoville Gold Project

Maximus Resources Ltd (ASX:MXR, OTC:MXRRF) has the aircore drill at work at the Spargoville Gold Project in Western Australia, targeting a 2-kilometre-long gold trend at the Hilditch South gold target that was previously identified with geochemical sampling.

Around 3,000 metres of aircore drilling will be completed targeting areas with a substantial arsenic and antimony anomaly, both pathfinder elements for gold that indicate the presence of a potentially extensive gold system at depth.

Should Maximus generate positive results in this aircore campaign, the company will follow up with deeper reverse circulation (RC) drilling.

Low-cost, highly effective exploration

“The recently completed project-wide soil sampling program for lithium has also provided the company with invaluable geochemistry data for our ongoing gold exploration program,” Maximus Resources managing director Tim Wither said.

“Following the mineral resource upgrade at our Hilditch deposit to 19,500 ounces of gold, the geochemistry data has highlighted a significant gold pathfinder trend from the Hilditch gold resource along favourable geology.

“Shallow legacy drilling has highlighted the fertility of this structure with grades up to 7 g/t gold.

“This aircore program is part of Maximus’ continued strategy to employ low-cost yet highly effective exploration techniques to refine targets for future drilling programs.”

Maximus expects to finish the aircore campaign within a week, with more infill drilling to follow should it be required, and assays expected by late February.
