First Phosphate Corp CEO John Passalacqua and Chief Geologist Gilles Laverdiere joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share significant news about the company's high-grade phosphate discoveries at the Bégin-Lamarche project in Quebec. The company confirmed a new high-grade discovery located just 500 meters from the existing northern zone of the project. The discovery was initially made in the fall of 2022 during a prospection campaign and was later confirmed with 26 grab samples returning high-grade P2O5 (phosphate).
Laverdiere explained that the newly discovered high-grade phosphate area has been named the Mountain Zone and measures approximately 350 meters in length by 175 meters in width. Field observations suggest that the rock type in this area is nelsonitic peridotite, which is the most favorable rock type for finding phosphate on the property. Of the 26 grab samples taken in this area, most returned grades ranging from 7.17% to 17.83% phosphate.
Additionally, a second new zone called the Northwestern Zone was discovered west of the existing Northern Zone, with 4 of 8 samples returning grades of over 10% P2O5. The discovery of these high-grade phosphate zones is a significant development for First Phosphate Corp and its Bégin-Lamarche project, potentially contributing to the project's overall resource base and economic potential.
