Blackbird brings more US states under its wing via BLOX partnership

Cloud-native video editing platform Blackbird PLC (AIM:BIRD, OTCQX:BBRDF) has expanded its reach into the US through the deployment of its technology to TV stations in Idaho and Mississippi, both of which are part of the Imagicomm Communications group.

This latest development is a continuation of Blackbird's successful partnership with BLOX Digital, formerly known as TownNews.

Since the commencement of their collaboration in 2018, BLOX Digital has played a pivotal role in introducing Blackbird’s cutting-edge technology to the US market.

Blackbird's platform is popular for its capability to facilitate collaborative remote access, editing, and publishing of news content swiftly across social, web, and other digital platforms.

When integrated with BLOX Digital’s BLOX VMS, it enables TV stations to deliver the latest news stories with unprecedented speed and control.

Data shared by Blackbird on Monday showed that local news stations remain the most trusted source of news for over 70% of US adults, with 86% sourcing all news from digital devices.

Over 700 local TV stations across the US generate 6.6 hours of daily local news content each, netting over US$36 billion in annual revenue in advertising and retransmission fees.

With Idaho and Mississippi under its wing, Blackbird's technology is now employed in over 70 TV stations across 35 US states.
