Infinity Lithium Corp pursues fieldwork and permitting at San Jose

Infinity Lithium Corporation Ltd (ASX:INF) is continuing with fieldwork and permitting at the San José Lithium Project in Spain.

Work programs have started on grounds within the project’s broader granted exploration permit area, which were previously secured with landowners under an option and long-term lease agreement.

The ongoing site work will provide the data for integration into the project’s environmental impact assessment (EIA), with the work programs including geophysical surveys and sampling campaigns over areas identified for tailings storage facilities.

Infinity Lithium has also acquired data relating to water bore drilling undertaken by private landowners, allowing water depth measurements and sampling to update hydrogeological modelling. The holes selected to be refurbished were drilled by existing landowners.

In addition to these work programs, other technical work recently completed includes:

  • lithium characterisation sampling programs;
  • water sampling campaign and hydrological studies on sources, reservoirs, and springs around the project area; and
  • soil sampling campaign to establish baseline values.

ECA submission status

Infinity continues to collaborate with the regional government of Extremadura and the relevant departments to finalise the administrative requirements to lodge the exploitation concession application (ECA) notification.

Once it receives formal notification of the intent to lodge the ECA, the company will await confirmation from the department with regard to its assessment on the project resource and subsequent decision regarding approval to lodge the ECA.

Infinity expected to receive the submission of the ECA notification in Q4 2023, but the regional government of Extremadura is still finalising other internal administrative processes relating to project areas that were previously under investigation permits.
